Today was a tough one! We got a late start from Wickenburg. Immediately Sergio noticed his tire wasn’t fully inflated from yesterday’s flat, so we pulled over to fix that. Then the route Google and Garmin said we should take ended up being arough dirt road which we discovered after a few miles and turned around. Finally we made it to Congress, where we had a Coke, at 9am. It was already 110 degrees. After, we climbed for 9 miles to Yarnell and ate lunch. Throughout this climb people were honking and waving, giving us courage to continue.
After Yarnell we descended a quick 500 feet and started the 30 mile climb to Prescott.
Between Wilhoit and Prescott was absolutely beautiful! The top of the pass was 6,100 feet-finally out of the desert and into the trees! Overall we climbed 5,587 feet in 59 miles.
Prescott welcomed us with rain, lightning, and rainbows. Pizza delivery for dinner.
