Day 42 : climbing the father of rivers

We left Troy this morning at 7am for our 79 mile ride to Hannibal. It was really foggy and humid when we left Troy.

It stayed overcast for most of the day which made for perfect riding! A few people waved!

We gained 5,085 feet climbing all the rivers that flow into the Mississippi.

We followed the MRT bike route but the bike lane on the highway was overgrown and clearly not considered in the most recent paving.

Right now we’re drinking what we’ve deserved since entering MO…. MO’beer at Mark Twain Brewing.

And eating freshly smoked pulled pork!
