70 terrible miles from Perryton, TX to Meade Lake State Park, KS. We fought a 17+ mph headwind the entire way, as a result we averaged about 9.8mph for the day. In comparison, we did 105 miles from Tucumcari to Amarillo in about the same time we did today’s ride. In total, we climbed about 1,946 feet.
We left Texas and rode through Oklahoma for 36 miles.
We stopped in Beaver, OK or ‘no mans land’ for lunch and ice cream.
We politely asked for a cold beer from the people next to us & they graciously gave us two Bud Lights – so good.
Three states in one day – Good job! We thought people in Kansas were the friendliest. Hope that wind turns into a tailwind for you tomorrow. 🙂
Need me to send you some craft beer? Watch out for twisters and evil monkeys
Remember that your headwind is someone else’s tailwind.
