Late start today, around 8:30, for our 28 mile ride from Window Rock to Gallup. First a detour to Window Rock, which the town is named after. We saw a few dogs on the way, who didn’t seem to care for us. Off to Gallup and we saw this sign – New Mexico – our… Continue reading Day 16 : still no beer

Day 15 : need pepper spray!
6am start for our 98 mile ride from Second Mesa to Window Rock. Initially about 12 dogs chased us out of Second Mesa. This trend followed through First Mesa where Winona was inches away from getting bit. We stopped at a police station shortly after to get pepper spray, but they didn’t have any. So… Continue reading Day 15 : need pepper spray!
Day 14 : unpleasant encounter

Day 7 : brutal
Today was a tough one! We got a late start from Wickenburg. Immediately Sergio noticed his tire wasn’t fully inflated from yesterday’s flat, so we pulled over to fix that. Then the route Google and Garmin said we should take ended up being arough dirt road which we discovered after a few miles and turned… Continue reading Day 7 : brutal
Day 6 : first flat!
Another long one, about 90 miles from Quartzsite to Wickenburg. It was basically all uphill with a headwind the entire way. We started around 5am and watched the sunrise again! The first 10 miles were on the freeway, which still sucked, but the remaining were on a pretty large shoulder with annoying bumps every 5… Continue reading Day 6 : first flat!
